I have never had problems at this bank branch (Tilehurst). Staff are very helpful. If it is very busy just come at a better time when either queue is shorter or more staff at counters

Generally very good, but very quick to push their products given the chance !

Dental Surgeries

Centre for Dentistry

Bath Road, Inside Sainsbury's, Theale, Calcot RG31 7SA, UK – 0118 945 3534

I have been going to CFD for over 3 years and have always been pleased with the service; prices are pretty affordable too (even better on the dental plan). The staff are genuinely nice and always make me feel at ease. My dentist talks me through what they are doing as they are doing it. She has been brilliant with issues such as the prevention of teeth grinding which has really helped my migraines + ongoing clicking jaw.

Highly recommend!! Great dental practice, wouldn't go anywhere else.

Gentle Dental Care

6 Chapel Hill, Reading RG31 5DG, UK – 0118 945 2900

Lovely staff and excellent service especially Sue on reception

Hello to anyone reading this! I should start by saying how simple and easy my visits have been to the surgery. The first appointment was at short notice, no problem! The dentist, great guy!! My following appointments, no complications, still very accommodating and.....easy! A nice location, tidy and well kept!!!! All in all, a big thumbs up. Thanks gentle dental, you should be proud!

Triangle Dental

79 School Rd, Reading RG31 5AT, UK – 0118 942 7113

Over the course of my life I have had many root fillings, crowns and extractions, and after a recent disastrous extraction experience at a different surgery which left me with a damaged tooth causing a huge amount of pain, I visited Triangle Dental for remedial work. I can only say that the treatment I received from Triangle Dental was outstanding. I only had a standard appointment, but they spent nearly 2 hours sorting me out. I am so grateful to them, and having spent many an hour in the dentist chair over the years, I can honestly say this is the best care I have ever experienced. I'm looking forward to visiting on a regular basis - looking forward to going to the dentist?????? That's a first! Thank you Triangle, superb!

I've been a patient at the practice since I cut my first teeth and have always had a really positive experience! I'm a nervous patient and saw Giles up until last year and he has always been fantastic at putting me at ease. He explains everything he is about to do before he does it - he extracted two teeth when I was a child and it was not traumatic at all! I work long hours so I recently changed dentists to Jon which I was a bit apprehensive about but I am just as happy with him. I had a check up with him recently and we discussed the possibility of doing some cosmetic work which I am really excited about. I would highly recommend Triangle for the friendly staff and you don't get the feeling they are "ripping you off" as you do with some dentists.

Theale Medical Centre

Englefield Rd, Theale, Reading RG7 5AS, UK – 0118 930 3081

Great surgery. Every one is so helpful. Nothing is too much bother

What a great practice! I canโ€™t believe the negative comments. They try really hard and while not perfect, given the work they do, im not sure thereโ€™s any such thing as perfect! Great doctors and staff that care and really give a damn. Iโ€™m not sure I can think of many career choices where an individual could be so easily criticised. What thankless days they must have at times, especially given that their โ€œcustomersโ€, by the very nature are not on best of form! I for one am very greatful for all their efforts, I may not be able to always get a same day appointment for a non essential condition, but when my family or I have needed real help, theyโ€™ve bent over backwards to assist! Thank you to the whole team!

Circuit Lane Surgery

53 Circuit Ln, Reading RG30 3AN, UK – 0118 958 2537

This place works better than expected for such a number of patients. Need to be expanded with 3 more rooms or more, space on car park and green for this. There are no other choices around within walking distance.

I want to with in the care industry ispooeto a lady called Sandra she was absolutely brilliant got the job done straight ay

Tilehurst Village Surgery

92 Westwood Rd, Reading RG31 5PP, UK – 0118 945 2612

I received excellent care and service both from the extremely helpful receptionists and doctor who helped me today. I rang for an emergency appointment this afternoon, but none were available. I was offered a telephone call instead. Dr Thompson rang me later, and 20 mins after the call my prescription was ready for collection. I would like to add that I have been a patient at this surgery for more than 20 years and have received excellent care throughout, especially in more recent times when health care professionals are under ever increasing pressure.

NHS Direct is now NHS 24. Just dial 111 to speak to a professional or click the link below for there self help website. Lots of really useful info but keep clear of heart surgery! If in doubt ask your GP or call 111. Good luck.

English Martyrs Catholic Church

64 Liebenrood Rd, Reading RG30 2EB, UK – 0118 957 2149

The Parish has a great community. The Priests are very approachable. Music and singing at most Masses which I like. There are 3 Masses on Sunday as well as the vigil Mass which is quite unusual in this area. Very child orientated. There are Childrens masses which involve them in the readings and the choir.

Warm and welcoming congregations. Led by a capable priest.

Find Recycling Centres

Reading Metal Recycling

Green Ln, Reading RG30 3XN, UK – 0118 950 0470

This was my first experience of metal recycling. The staff were very helpful and I got what seemed to be a very good price for the metal I took there. Money was transferred immediately. Would definitely go again if I have the need to. Take photo ID. It's needed for the transaction to happen.

Helpful staff told me my metal was worth more than I thought due to the type of metal. I thought it was steel and it turned out to be copper. Very trustworthy and the money was in my account straight away. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

John Mould (Reading)

10 Pingewood Rd N, Reading RG30 3XL, UK – 0118 957 5555

Excellent service from start to finish. Best skip hire we have used. Friendly and helpful staff. I would definitely recommend.

Great experience and professionalism. Best in the area for demolition and reclamation.

Hadley Recycling and Waste Management

Kennet Weir Business Park, Arrowhead Rd, Theale RG7 4AE, UK – 0118 932 3444

We had a build on a busy road with big hassle parking and keeping a space on the road for the skip. We used three 6 yd skips, one was a swap out. These guys were excellent and can't be faulted in any way if you want quality and reliability look no further. I have no hesitation in recommending them.

Fantastic service. Hadleys were friendly, efficient and a pleasure to work with. Thank you! I would highly recommend

Give and get free stuff. Here you will find lots of items that people are willing to give away, for FREE! This is instead of taking them to a local landfill site. The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.
We all know that we need to recycle more - and this is a great way of doing it.

Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Calcot

805 Restaurants

2, Cholsey House, Moulsford Mews, Reading RG30 1AP, UK – 0118 956 1974

I went here with my family for an Easter Sunday Lunch and it was lovely. A huge upgrade & much better service compared to the Abuja & Old Kent road branches. The location is good and parking is free on Sundays. Staff here are very friendly and informative, (unlike the other branches Iโ€™ve been to). My family and I loved the decor and ambience. Food was presented excellently and tasted great. I had the Monika Tilapia and it was delicious. Superb first time at 805 in Reading. I just hope that the service wonโ€™t drop as the restaurant gets busier. Will be making another visit very soon

Lovely people, friendly, welcoming, a ttentive. Food stunning, hot, hot, hot starter, filling main. Would visit again. Note: locals seem to love it.. Always a good indicator.

The Mansion House Harvester

Prospect Park, Liebenrood Rd, Reading RG30 2ND, UK – 0118 950 5125

Nice location and nice staff. The place was a bit hot on the day I visited. There is no air con. Not sure if it is broken or they do not have one. I felt bad for the friendly waitress to have to work in a hot environment. It is a usual Harvester with unlimited salad. The fries and potatoes chips were really good. There are plenty of parking but need to be aware the bend can only accommodate one car. Be slow when you go up or leave the car park.

Great location for a meal. This is a mansion house, in the middle of Prospect Park, with a beautiful view. You cannot beat it - especially on a summer's evening. The food was tasty, good value and the staff very good. Plus there is a free salad bar with unlimited salad. One area could improve - we would have liked larger portions of veg: but we could fill up with salad so not a massive problem.
