Parkside International Hotel

72 Bath Rd, Reading RG30 2BE, UK – 0118 959 0564

Reasonable service from the receptionist. Room provided was sufficiently clean but not exceptional. Fairly pricey at £75 a night but I assume if you book sooner you will get a better deal. If you can ignore a couple things here and there and need somewhere to stay in Reading ASAP then it's not a bad choice. However don't expect much and breakfast is £9.50 and therefore I have chosen to avoid it. The location is outside of Reading town center which may or may not be suitable for everyone.

Easy to find and in good location. We took the lift to the top floor and were pleasantly surprised with the rooms. We were expecting one ensuite room but we had a lounge and a fully equipped kitchen! Had I know beforehand, I would have packed food! Everywhere was clean, tidy, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was nice. All in all, good value good money.

The Lawn Hotel

74 Bath Rd, Reading RG30 2BE, UK – 0118 959 0342

Booked this place whilst on a business trip over some time. The rooms are very clean and facilities are very presentable. The staff member at the reception is very friendly and very approacheable. There isnt a vending machine so you may have to take a long walk to get to shop. I will recommend to anyone looking to stay over in Reading as I am pleased with the services and staff member is brilliant and very helpful.

Well worth the money just could do with better pillows on the beds it was like sleeping on a log

Best Western Reading Calcot Hotel

Bath Rd, Calcot, Reading RG31 7QN, UK – 0118 941 6423

Suited our needs really well. Great location at a reasonable price for a couple of Aussie visitors. Clean and reasonably spacious for the UK. On a busy road but double glazing seems pretty standard here in the UK so the noise was minimal. Car parking was great which was unusual because it's been a premium everywhere else we have been. Would definitely book again.

Stopped here for lunch on the off chance travelling to Wales from Gatwick. It was within easy reach of the motorway. The hotel was inviting and the receptionist greeted my friend and I cheerily. The restaurant was immaculately arranged, the front of house lady was attentive and gave a personal touch to the lunch by spending a few moments to explain the menu and ask about our day. The meal was excellent, good food, excellent choice, well presented! The best bit was the price £15.99 for three generous portions and a cheese board was included for the not so sweet tooths! I would definitely use this Best Western again! offers competitive rates for any type of hotel, from small independent hotels to a five star luxury ones. This is an Intesting place. You never quite now what your going to get. One day it could be really crowded the others, it could be quite calm. But over all the pub is rearly nice and welcominget. It is also dog friendly which is always a plus.

Excellent! Fantastic location next to a canal! Excellent staff, quality food! Run by a family. Dog friendly. They have a darts board, which is a big bonus! :-)

The Bull

41 High St, Theale, Reading RG7 5AH, UK – 0118 930 3478

Very nice local pub. Good food and service. Good selection of beer's and wine.

Just got on bus to anywhere. Ended up getting off at Theale. Went into the Bull for lunch. Lovely Pub, great staff and friendly atmosphere. The food was delicious but to much for me. Sorry I couldn't eat it all. But I would recommend going here.

Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!
